About the Competition

The Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals was established in 2000 as a "playground" for ambitious leisure kart drivers. Today, it has become the most prestigious event in the world for professional karting. The Grand Finals is the absolute highlight of the karting race season where drivers from different nations and continents gather to crown the best amongst them. The basic intention of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals is to apply the team spirit as well as true sportsmanship to an international semi-professional kart racing series.

The concept of the event, which has the support of the CIK/FIA itself, is very attractive. It is series of karting races at the highest world level, organized by BRP-Powertrain and their distributors. The only engines allowed are Rotax engines, which are pre-checked and sealed, so that every participant has a chance for an equal performance. The sporting and technical regulations are also defined by BRP-Powertrain. Every year more than 270 drivers from 60 countries around the world will take part of the Rotax MAX Challenges Grand Finals, which is a true world championship race.

During the season, authorized BRP-Rotax kart distributors organize national / international competitions around the world. The best drivers from Rotax MAX Challenges qualify for the annual Grand Finals. The power packs used for races are sealed Rotax® Junior MAX, MAX as well as DD2 engines. Modifications are strictly forbidden.
